THE STORY OF THREE FRIENDS

Black Eye was founded by three friends who shared a passion for board sports and photography. Skateboard photographer Arto Ekman and professional snowboarders Fredu Sirviö and Eero Ettala wanted to make filming and photography with smartphones easier for everyone.

Filming with different cameras, uploading the footage on the laptop, editing it and sharing it to the social medias was difficult and took too much time. We wanted to provide a better solution to make the process easier. The answer to the revolution was laying in our pockets. Smartphone cameras were developing to a point where they could compete with traditional cameras. The first Black Eye lens “The Original” was introduced in 2013. Since then our goal has been to develop best smartphone accessories in the market for everyone. Simple, best quality, universal, achievable and for everyone. Welcome to the world of Black Eye.
